United Way and the Lewis County Rotary Foundation Team Up for Literacy in Lewis County

Officially launching in January 2020, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library will be coming to Lewis County through a partnership with United Way of Lewis County and Lewis County Rotary Foundation. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high quality, age-appropriate books to children from birth until their fifth birthday, no matter the family’s income.
This literacy program is designed to promote early learning and create parent/child engagement in the home. It comes at no cost to the family and will be funded dually through the Lewis County Rotary Foundation and United Way fundraising efforts.
“Dolly Parton’s vision for the Imagination Library was to foster a love of reading among her county’s preschool children and their families. Dolly’s vision also aligns with United Way of Lewis County’s focus area around Early Education. The foundation for children’s success is set in the earliest years,” states Debbie Campbell, Executive Director at United Way of Lewis County.
Families will be able to sign their children up at a variety of different locations across Lewis County and at a larger kickoff event in the first part of the new year.
