Garlic Fest Includes Food, Fun, Entertainment, Tons of Garlic

The 2013 Chehalis Garlic Fest and Craft Show is coming Aug. 23, 24 and 25. Hours are Friday noon to 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Garlic will be provided this year by seven Northwest farms, offering over five tons of garlic in over 70 different varieties.
Come to Garlic Fest for traditional dishes such as hand-crafted garlic sausage on a bun, garlic Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and garlic-batter dipped corn dogs. For the more adventurous, there is garlic fudge, garlic kettle corn, garlic frosted brownies … and even garlic ice cream.
Talented folks from all over the United States will bring their handcrafted wares, fine art and gourmet food, making Chehalis Garlic Fest a shopper’s paradise.
The Cloves and Vines Wine Cellar features Northwest wineries serving wine by the taste, by the glass and bottles for purchase. For beer aficionados, there is Garlicious’ ChilLounge with a wide range of beers and ale – yes, even garlic beer, specially brewed for the event by Dick’s Brewing in Centralia.
There will be live music and entertainment on the outdoor stage, and the second stage inside of the Grandstand hall will showcase many acoustic acts and chef demonstrations using the glorious garlic bulb.
General admission is $5, seniors 65 years and over and military is $4, children age seven and under are free. The website is updated with the most current information. Go to chehalisgarlicfest.com. For more information, contact the Advocate Agency at (360) 748-6836, 425 N. Market Blvd., Chehalis.
