Garden Scarecrow Competition

The Community Farmers Market announced their first Garden Scarecrow Competition and seeks individuals, groups, and businesses to participate. All ages are welcome. The Market will provide one bale of hay and donated clothing to participants, but use of your own materials and creativity is encouraged.

Two categories will be judged, traditional and “any other.” Prizes include $50 in Market tokens and a Harvest Basket of items from the Community Farmers Market vendors.

Detailed rules and a registration form can be found on the Market website at Interested participants must turn in a registration form by 9/29/14. Scarecrows must be turned in for judging at Market on October 7, 2014 between 11AM-2PM. Participants can take home their scarecrow after judging or donate it to a silent auction held at the Harvest Dinner fundraiser on October 12, 2014.

The Garden Scarecrow Competition promises to be a fun way to build team spirit and celebrate the oncoming fall season! Questions or donations of materials can be directed to Market Manager, Rachael Reiton, at or 360-740-1295.
