Do You Know an Extraordinary Centralia College Alumnus?

Centralia College has educated many extraordinary individuals since its inception. This long list includes a secret agent, an actor, and a Starbucks CEO. The college has provided an educational foundation for many noteworthy students who’ve gone on to reach great heights in their respective fields, demonstrating the success that education, talent and hard work can achieve. Each year, Centralia College honors one of our noteworthy alumni to acknowledge their accomplishments and shine a spotlight on their inspirational attributes.
A selection committee comprised of Centralia College and Centralia College Foundation representatives is currently seeking nominations for the Distinguished Alumnus Award. The award is presented annually to an individual who attended Centralia College for at least one year and/or has made significant contributions to his or her profession, or society in general. The recipient of this prestigious award is named in the spring and recognized at the college’s graduation ceremony in June.
Previous winners include: James O. Lonborg, who worked in the U.S. space program in its inception; Susan Dunn, vice president of a government relations firm who retired from 30 years of exemplary service for Washington state; Bill Brumsickle, former school administrator, teacher, and four-term 20th District Washington state legislator; and Patti Morton, America’s first female Special Agent/Security Officer with worldwide responsibility for U.S. Department of State overseas missions. In all, 39 individuals have received the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
The selection committee relies on the community to nominate appropriate alumni from Centralia College.
