WHAT: Sewer Rehabilitation Project
WHERE: Contractors for the city of Chehalis will be conducting sewer rehabilitation work on or near N. National Ave. and Kresky Ave. from the Staples area and extending to the northern city limits at Scott Johnson Rd.
WHEN: Work is scheduled to commence on Monday, September 19th and is expected to continue until the first week of October. However, this work is weather dependent and inclement weather may cause some delays. Typical work hours will be Monday through Friday from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm.
BACKGROUND: The city of Chehalis has contracted with Michels Pipe Services to conduct sewer rehabilitation work in an area from Staples north to the city limits. The project will entail the rehabilitation of approximately 7,500 feet of 8, 10 and 12-inch sewer pipe via a trenchless rehabilitation method called cured in place pipe (CIPP) along with the coating of all associated manholes. The work will be completed with very little, if any digging. The work will necessitate intermittent single lane closures on N. National Ave. and Kresky Ave. Customers in the project area should not experience any disruption to their sewer service. If you experience sewer problems at any time during this project, please contact the Public Works Department at 748-0238. This project is funded by grants and loans from the Washington State Department of Ecology and EPA.
