Chehalis Community Renaissance Team Cancels ChehalisFest

Chehalis WA –The Chehalis Community Renaissance Team has made the difficult decision to cancel ChehalisFest, originally scheduled for July 25, 2020 due to the unprecedented situation caused by the COVID-19 crisis.

“We are saddened to join the list of summer festivals that will not be taking place this year,” stated Annalee Tobey, executive director.  “Our board of directors took a hard look at this decision and considered many factors including health concerns, gathering requirements, and timelines needed to create a fun-filled event.”

CCRT has been actively involved in small business recovery efforts since this crisis began.  “We also had to consider our bandwidth as we looked at balancing the planning and promoting of a large festival along with our current focus on small business support and recovery efforts.  The board agreed that our attention needs to stay focused on seeing our businesses through this uncertain time,” said Tobey.

The Chehalis Community Renaissance Team accomplishes projects and activities to make the Chehalis area a more attractive place in which to live and raise a family; to enhance job opportunities and the involvement of youth, so more high school and college graduates choose to live in the area; to increase tourism to support local retailers, hotels and restaurants; and to increase retail business to enhance local shopping.
