Chamber Forum, April 2019

Another informative Chamber Forum in the books! Thank you to our guest speaker Brandon Rakes, Airport Operations Coordinator of the Chehalis-Centralia Airport and thank you to all who were in attendance. Rakes was able to give some insight into current and future projects in the works. Points of focus were Airport Operations, Community Outreach & Education, and Commercial Development. A new Taxiway Realignment Project will help to create new jobs and bring in revenue to Lewis County. A new grant will help build an Electric Car Charging Station and will soon be available and open to the public. The Airport is also collaborating with W.F West to implement a new STEM program beginning in the next school year and also working with the Centralia College on the feasibility of creating a new aviation program. They are also raising money for a Discover! Children’s Museum with a Leap the Levee 5K Run/Walk taking place June 15th. Thank you to the businesses donating for the Rob Fuller Scholarship raffle prizes: Katie’s Candies, Lakeside Industries, Custom Security and Funeral Alternatives. We hope everyone enjoyed the forum and look forward to seeing you at our next event.
