Centralia College to Observe Veterans Day on Nov. 9

Centralia College will host a Veterans Day observance at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the flagpole outside the Hanson Administration Building. The community is invited and encouraged to attend.

Speakers will include Otto Rabe, a Centralia College accounting instructor, who retired from the Army, and Brian King, who actively serves in the Washington National Guard. The focus of the program will be on positive transitions.

In addition to the formal service Nov. 9, the community is invited to take part in Centralia College’s presentation of 22 Boots, a powerful exhibit to honor the 22 American veterans who commit suicide per day. There will be 22 pairs of military boots on display in Washington Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Representatives from the Centralia College Veterans Center will be on-hand to answer questions and provide support as visitors tour the moving display.

For more information on the Veterans Day events or the Centralia College Veterans Center, contact James Marshall, Vet Corps Navigator, at 360-736-9391, ext. 276.
