Lewis County Economic Development Council

Since its inception, the EDC has worked with over 100 companies that have located here, responsible for providing
over 3,000 jobs. The EDC has also collaborated with 250 local firms to help them expand or strengthen their operations as well as solve transportation, utility and regulatory problems.

The EDC includes 300 business members plus local government, education, and others. The council offers programs to increase competitiveness of its companies and provide assistance with site location and permitting issues. The “Small Business Development Center” is a valuable service for start-up companies. Also, “The Lending Network” is an excellent financial resource that has made over 60 loans to small, local companies over the past ten years. Employee recruitment and training programs are also available.
